Guangzhou, China 500-Unit Residential Development

500-Unit Casement + Fixed System — R&F Guangzhou Development

500 units of typhoon-zone-compliant thermal-break casement + fixed windows for a high-rise residential development in Zhujiang New Town. Delivered on-time across 18 months of phased handovers.

500-Unit Casement + Fixed System — R&F Guangzhou Development

The Challenge

South China code requires wind-load resistance to 4.5 kN/m² for buildings above the 30th floor. The developer also needed argon-filled hollow glass with 27A cavity spec to hit the residential thermal transmittance target. Compressed development schedule required 500 units delivered across 6 towers in 18 months with zero delays.

The Solution

We combined our 120 Thermal-Break Casement (opening units) with matching 110 Double In-Swing configurations for balcony access. Multi-chamber structure with integrated isobaric sealing strips + 27A large hollow glass with argon significantly improved the whole-window U-value. Hidden drainage system eliminated the risk of rainwater backflow during typhoon events.

Key Product Features

  • 27A large hollow glass with argon fill for superior thermal insulation
  • Multi-chamber structure with integrated isobaric sealing
  • Hidden drainage prevents rainwater backflow in typhoon conditions
  • Whole-window joint glue-injection process (no visible seams)
  • Base-free British handle design (minimalist aesthetic)
  • Ground drain-style drainage system

Architect's Recommendation: For any high-rise project above the 30th floor in Guangdong / Fujian / Hainan, spec the 120 series over the 105 — you'll need the extra profile chamber for wind-load class jump. Below 30F, 105 is sufficient. The 27A cavity is a hard requirement for the argon fill to actually deliver its thermal advantage; smaller cavities lose the argon effect.

"500 units delivered in 18 months with zero scheduling delays. In a market where 6-month delays are typical, that alone justified choosing TWD. The windows themselves performed beautifully in the 2024 Guangzhou typhoons."
