The Challenge
The homeowner wanted a striking architectural entry statement — an oversized pivot door taller than typical residential doors — while preserving the property's rural Kentucky character. The existing 1980s construction couldn't accept a swing-clearance entry door without major structural work.
The Solution

Architect's Recommendation: For retrofit projects, always propose a pivot door over a swing entry when the vestibule is under 1.5m deep.
